I’m thinking peanut butter cup – two great tastes that taste great together. In this case the two tastes are ds106 and the Webheads in Action. The idea is to have a short MOOC like experience to introduce the ds106 method and mindset to tech-savvy ESL/EFL educators.
The idea has been floated by email with Jim and Alan, and via the Webheads’ Yahoo Group discussion board. Response has been encouraging and favorable. So now it’s time to get busy.
The course will run for two weeks beginning on April 23, 2012. The main objective will be to show participants what ds106 is and how it works. And maybe some would choose to stick around beyond the course and begin a discussion that imagines ways to apply a ds106 type model to language teaching.
Those interested in joining this session are encouraged to fill out this Google form.
Though this course has the Webheads in mind, anyone is welcome to participate. But if you are an ESL/EFL person who is into such online shenanigans or you just want to meet some really cool people, you might consider joining the Webheads in Action.
